The wild bichon, out on a hike.
This really wasn't originally our idea. She hates being left behind, but she's also 16 or 17 and is rheumatic as well as being quite spoiled. She can't walk for very far before attempting to hop into the arms of whoever is holding her leash. She also cries when her paws get cold. A couple of years ago, we jerry-rigged one of my old backpacks, which was definitely rather uncomfortable, but she still begged to both come along on hikes and, when tired, get into the backpack. So now she has her own special doggie-backpack from which she can survey the wilderness in style.
