I've been feeling down over the whole PuppyGate/Sad Puppies/ Rabid Puppies thing, so a bit of dogshaming seemed in order.
A comment on the site name, if you're not familiar with it--in general, the owners are loving, rueful, and oddly proud of their dogs' pernicious perspicacity for mischief. Although recently I'm seeing a lot more "guilty" doggy expressions, in general, the dogs seem quite pleased with themselves.
The shelter I volunteer at has actually been experimenting with this idea by widely advertising the "problems" of our difficult animals. I actually love the strategy, because it's a great way of finding a home that will embrace their "faults" (often just unusual behaviors or coping mechanisms) as well as their virtues.
